In his post addressed to Pastor Adeboye, Omokri emphasized the need for collective and diligent work to address the currency’s depreciation. Drawing parallels with successful nations with robust currencies like China and Japan, he pointed out that their economic prosperity was achieved through industriousness and sound economic policies rather than religious activities.
Omokri highlighted the irony of Nigeria possessing the world’s largest church auditorium while facing economic challenges, suggesting that a focus on industrial and manufacturing achievements could be more beneficial. He urged Pastor Adeboye to leverage his influence as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to encourage members to support local products and industries, such as using Glo over other telecom providers, consuming Dangote products, and driving Innoson vehicles.
Additionally, Omokri proposed a reduction in church activities, suggesting that members allocate more time to engaging in profitable ventures like work or business. He emphasized the importance of fostering a work culture among Nigerians, urging them to utilize the rainy season for agricultural activities to reduce the country’s substantial annual food import bill.
In essence, Omokri’s stance revolves around the belief that practical actions and a shift in focus towards economic endeavors, rather than excessive religious activities, are crucial for addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.
