Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Reno Omokri conveyed his disappointment, highlighting President Tinubu’s perceived passivity toward influential figures and social media influencers openly calling for a military coup in Nigeria.
Drawing attention to how the United States President, Joe Biden, faced threats that resulted in swift action by the FBI, Omokri questioned why some individuals in Nigeria who openly advocate for a military coup are allowed to continue without repercussions.
Omokri emphasized that President Tinubu’s gentleness and lack of action on this issue do not align with the qualities of effective leadership.
He stressed that in leadership, weakness can translate into a form of cruelty, particularly in situations threatening the nation’s democratic framework.
Asserting the importance of preserving the hard-fought democracy, Omokri advocated for immediate and strict consequences for anyone, regardless of their status, who advocates for a military coup.
He proposed that such individuals face legal consequences, emphasizing that safeguarding democracy should be a collective endeavor.
