Chairman of the committee, Abubakar Fulata, made this plea on Thursday. He suggested a monthly salary of N250,000, N500,000, and N1 million for primary, secondary, and university teachers, respectively.
Fulata expressed these views during a One-Day National Stakeholders’ Workshop concerning the Development of a Roadmap for the Nigerian Education Sector (2023-2027) held in Abuja on Thursday.
He stressed the importance of providing adequate compensation to Nigerian teachers as a means of motivation. He also emphasized the necessity of translating all subject textbooks into local languages to align with global standards.
Fulata noted that previous administrations’ efforts to address educational challenges had not yielded the anticipated outcomes.
