Rivers Governor Fubara Identifies Causes Of Ongoing Political CrisisElder Joseph Ambakederimo, a leading figure in the South-South region and convener of the South-South Reawakening Group, has voiced serious concerns about the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. He is calling for an immediate resolution to avoid further complications.

In an interview with Vanguard, Ambakederimo warned that the standoff between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike could lead to dire consequences if not addressed soon.

He emphasized that only Wike and Fubara have the authority to end the crisis, which has been significantly impacting governance and the implementation of state projects.

“The issues unfolding in Rivers State have unfortunately dragged on for too long, and if not addressed, they may lead to serious repercussions that could disrupt the political landscape,” Ambakederimo stated. “Now is the critical moment for these two key figures to settle their differences. They alone can choose to resolve the situation if they truly care about the state.”

On the recent court ruling that has halted the Federal Government’s allocation to Rivers Local Government, he remarked, “The judgment was based on the evidence presented in court and stands until a higher court reviews it, should the Rivers State Government decide to appeal.”

He concluded, “We should not overreact on behalf of the state government, which knows the appropriate actions to take. The law should be allowed to follow its course until a different outcome is reached.
