Rivers State Drama: Sole Administrator Ibas Denies Role In Summoning Fubara Amid Political Unrest

A statement attributed to the Secretary of the State Government, Ibibia Lucky Worika, had suggested that Ibas instructed Fubara to provide detailed documentation and justifications for appointments made during his administration over the past two years. The report also claimed the summons would give Fubara the chance to explain why he believes he should be reinstated.

However, in a response issued on Wednesday, Sir Dede Sampson Friday, the Permanent Secretary of the Special Services Bureau in the Office of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, vehemently denied the allegations, labeling the report as false.

He urged the public to disregard the misinformation, describing it as the work of agitators attempting to cause unrest in the state.

The statement read: “The Rivers State Government has become aware of fraudulent announcements circulating on social media, falsely attributed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). These malicious fabrications are designed to mislead the public, create panic, and disrupt the peace in Rivers State.”

The government further clarified that no official communication of such nature had been issued and urged the public to rely only on verified information from official channels:
