According to official statements, President Tinubu noted that the Ewi’s throne—one of the oldest traditional institutions in Yoruba history—symbolizes centuries of order, cultural heritage and continuity. He commended Oba Adejugbe for preserving and elevating these values with what he called “exceptional dignity and distinction,” adding that Ado-Ekiti has experienced cultural renewal, strengthened unity and closer engagement with government institutions throughout the monarch’s reign.

The President highlighted the royal father’s commitment to education, youth development, peace-building, and the protection of Ekiti’s moral and cultural identity, noting that such attributes have earned him widespread respect beyond state borders.
