“After Kwara Massacre, Oyedepo Launches 7-Day Prayer Siege: ‘The Wicked Will Face Catastrophe’”
A prominent cleric, Bishop David Oyedepo, has strongly condemned the recent attack on a Christian worship centre in Kwara State, declaring that Nigeria will never be turned into an Islamic nation. The cleric expressed deep concern over the persistent violence targeting churches and rural communities, stressing that the growing wave of killings and kidnappings has become intolerable. He noted that five worshippers were killed in the latest attack, while dozens of abducted residents remain missing, with the attackers reportedly demanding huge ransoms.
According to his remarks, the continued rise in kidnapping has evolved into “a thriving criminal enterprise,” with impoverished villages forced to negotiate outrageous sums to secure the release of their loved ones.
Bishop Oyedepo invoked curses on those responsible for the killings and abductions, insisting that the perpetrators and their sponsors would face divine judgment. He urged Christians nationwide to embark on seven days of intensive prayers beginning at midnight, describing the exercise as a spiritual intervention against the worsening insecurity.
He maintained that when the church prays, God responds, adding that fervent spiritual warfare would unleash “catastrophic disruption” within the camps of those behind the attacks.
A video of his address has since circulated widely, sparking conversations online and within religious communities.
