Salihu Lukman Criticizes Northern Representation In Tinubu’s Government, Calls Them Cheerleaders
....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former National Vice Chairman, North-west of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has criticized the role of Northerners in the Tinubu administration, stating that they have been reduced to a “choir group poorly singing ‘on your mandate we stand’ despite the shaky and staggering reality being demonstrated by the mandate holder.”

Lukman believes that the opportunity for Northern political leaders to redeem themselves and address the challenges of the region was lost during the tenure of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement titled, “Explosive North: Open Letter to Northern Politicians,” Lukman, who recently resigned from the APC, warned that the situation in the North could deteriorate rapidly, with the potential for widespread unrest and looting due to increasing hunger and desperation among the populace.

The statement reads:

“So far, one year has passed into President Asiwaju Tinubu’s administration. Northern political leaders are becoming weaker and more disorganized. Even the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima GCON, who should serve as a rallying point for Northern politicians, fails to exhibit political leadership.

With all due respect, hardly any official from the North in the current administration, including Sen. Shettima, is willing or able to take the necessary risks to defend the North’s interests. Painfully, what is emerging is that most Northern leaders are more concerned with self-preservation within the government.

Because of this focus on self-preservation, scheming for 2027 has already begun. Within the Presidency, there are signs of a cold war and positioning, which is alleged to explain Vice President Shettima’s praise-singing disposition. The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mal. Nuhu Ribadu, has devalued his office to almost a Protocol Office status for President Asiwaju Tinubu.

Virtually all other Northern politicians in this government, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume, have become absentee public servants, reduced to members of a choir group poorly singing ‘on your mandate we stand,’ despite the poor service delivery and deteriorating living conditions witnessed over the past year.”
