“We are determined to take firm action against those who consistently ignore sanitation regulations,” Nashima stated. “We will utilize all necessary measures to ensure compliance.”
Nashima also highlighted the challenges she faced upon assuming her role, noting that the agency lacked functional vehicles for effective service delivery. “When I became the General Manager, I encountered a system that was essentially non-functional. Many of our trucks had been out of service for years—some for as long as eight years,” she explained.
The agency has already begun public awareness campaigns and inspections to ensure adherence to environmental sanitation laws across the state.
