Highlighting the impending crisis due to flawed monetary policies, Sanusi urged people not to solely blame Tinubu for the prevailing economic hardship. He pointed out that the nation had been living a false lifestyle with substantial foreign and domestic debts for eight years, and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s debt exceeded N30 trillion.
Sanusi commended Tinubu’s decision to remove fuel subsidy, stating that blaming the administration for the economic downturn is unjust, given the necessity of subsidy removal and the country’s inability to afford it. He criticized the previous administration’s poor management of the economy, citing excessive printing of money by the Central Bank and a depreciating naira.

He urged people to endure the hardship and called on those with the means to assist the less privileged during these challenging times.
