Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s decisive intervention played a pivotal role in defusing the tension within the NURTW in Lagos. During this meeting, MC Oluomo officially declared his decision to step down from the position of Chairman. Reports suggest that initially, MC Oluomo hesitated to relinquish control due to the lucrative nature of the union’s business in the state.

MC Oluomo’s announcement to transfer power to Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Seego, the current Treasurer of the union in the state, marked a significant shift in leadership. Clad in white native attire, MC Oluomo expressed his intent to compete for the position of NURTW President, with the changes slated to take effect before the end of January 2024.

Sources indicate that MC Oluomo’s decision to step down was influenced by various factors, including pressure from influential friends and figures in Lagos, notably Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi.
