Joseph Kolawole Ajuwon, the co-founder of Afrelib Academy in Abuja, suggested a thorough curriculum review for teachers’ education, particularly concerning technology.
He highlighted the pivotal role of motivated and qualified teachers in shaping children’s potential, emphasizing that these educators are essential for nurturing students’ growth.
Ajuwon further stressed the significance of governmental support for teachers and the importance of empowering them to remain motivated.
The purpose of the training, he explained, was to equip educators since they are the primary conduits of knowledge to students. He remarked, “Our focus is to rejuvenate teachers, transforming them from being demoralized, disillusioned, disappointed, or discouraged about their profession.”
Joyce Gomina, the academy’s head of operations and programs, highlighted that the conference aimed to inspire teachers to provide high-quality education and impactful guidance, fostering positive outcomes for both students and national development.
She underscored the pivotal role that teachers play in shaping the future, as a nation’s greatness is closely linked to the caliber of its educators.
Addressing the conference as a keynote speaker, Dr. Emmanuel Aina, an educational administrator, emphasized the necessity of reviewing the curriculum for teachers’ education, with a particular emphasis on integrating technology.
He also highlighted the importance of offering competitive remuneration packages to attract the finest talents to the teaching profession.
