The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government has finalized plans to bring multiple criminal charges against former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
This development follows El-Rufai’s recent defection from the ruling APC to the SDP. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Ambassador Rufus Aiyenigba, the SDP accused the APC government of attempting to suppress opposition figures, instill fear within political circles, and deter further defections.
The party also claimed that the ruling APC is plotting to prosecute El-Rufai, instructing its agencies to prevent him from leaving the country. Additionally, the SDP pointed to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani’s alignment with the Federal Government’s tactics, citing the arrest of former Commissioner Jaafaru Sani in the state.
The statement reads: “SDP has received credible information that the APC is concerned about the growing momentum of our party. In response, the APC is using its government power to fabricate criminal charges against our members.
“Our sources indicate that the persecution will begin with one of our prominent leaders, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. The government is preparing to file multiple charges against him in Abuja and Kaduna shortly. Moreover, we’ve learned that the federal government has directed its agencies to prevent El-Rufai from leaving the country.”
