A cheiftain of the All Progressive Congress, Adamu Garba has urged the ruling party to zone the seat of the next senate president to North West.

While on an interview with Seun Okin of channels Television, Adamu Garba gave his two cents why North West should produce the next senate president despite the number two man been Muslims.

Although they are other top contenders fighting for the seat e.g. Adams Oshiomhole former Edo State Governor, Yari former Governor of Zamfara State, Godswill Akpabio former Akwa Ibom State Governor, David Umahi Governor of Ebonyi State, Orji Uzor Kalu former Governor of Abia State.

“When you try to bring politics of religion into the national assembly, you are not going to get it right.”

“This is zonal issue, the North West brought 2.7 million votes for us to get back to power, we need to understand this and the North West decided to throw their brother away, who is Atiku Abubakar.”

“It is the zones that bring the highest number of votes we need to compensate, you can’t carry the senate presidency and give to the zone that gave you 1.5% of the total votes produced as against the vote that gave you 30% of the total votes which is North West.”, He said.
