In a statement issued by his media advisor, Ike Abonyi, Secondus urged law enforcement agencies to uphold the sanctity of life and ensure a peaceful political climate.
He condemned any actions aimed at intimidating or coercing individuals with opposing views, asserting that such behavior has no place in a democratic society.
Secondus cited recent allegations from Dan Nwanyanwu, National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, as well as previous threats reported by Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, a member of the House of Representatives, and Dr. Abiye Sekibo, a former Minister of Transport.
He called upon security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to prevent potential harm.
“A true politician and democrat should rely on their popularity, not coercion, to achieve their goals,” Secondus remarked.
He expressed concern that if Wike resorts to threats against those with differing opinions, it suggests a loss of public confidence.
Secondus also criticized Wike’s recent threats against Senator Ireti Kingibe, who had expressed differing views on Wike’s management of the FCT.
He urged President Tinubu to intervene and prevent further embarrassment to his administration.
