Security Forces Detain Three Alleged Kidnappers, Successfully Rescue Two In Taraba

Following thorough intelligence gathering and surveillance, the joint forces raided the kidnappers’ hideouts, leading to a gunfight that resulted in the capture of Haruna Buba (20), Hassan Kakale, and Hussaini Kakale (both 28). The suspects were arrested after their gang abandoned their hostages in the face of armed resistance.

The rescued victims, Hauwa’u Alh Umaru and Asma’u Alh Umaru, abducted on July 7, 2024, received immediate psychological and medical support at Headquarters 6 Brigade before being reunited with their families.

During the handover ceremony, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, the brigade commander, commended the troops for their bravery and efficiency. He reaffirmed the brigade’s commitment to safeguarding Taraba State residents and urged the public to remain vigilant, cooperating with security forces to combat criminal activities.

In a separate incident in Wukari council, troops responded to reports of gunfire in Chinkai village, discovering the body of Alhaji Gana, a notorious terrorist operating in Southern Taraba and Awe local government councils of Nasarawa State. Gana was killed during a shootout with a rival terrorist group, underscoring the military’s resolve to combat terrorism and maintain peace in the region.

The army reiterated its dedication to working closely with other security agencies and stakeholders to protect citizens and bring criminals to justice.
