Sell Your IPhone 17 Pro Max – Lawyer Vows To Stop Lending Money To Friend
A Nigerian lawyer has sparked reactions on social media after sharing her experience with a friend who, according to her, only contacts her when she needs financial assistance or support with her children’s education.
The legal practitioner, identified on X as @Dammi_Esq, said she had consistently offered financial help to the woman but had become uncomfortable with what she described as a one-sided friendship.
According to the lawyer, her friend rarely reaches out for ordinary conversations but frequently contacts her when she needs to borrow money or requires assistance with her children’s schooling.
She disclosed that she had decided to stop providing financial support after discovering that her friend had purchased an iPhone 17 Pro Max, an expensive smartphone.
The lawyer said she was now waiting for her friend to make another request for money but had resolved not to assist her, even if the request was related to the children’s needs.
“I am patiently waiting for her to reach out again. I won’t help her, even if she says the money is for her children. She should go and sell her iPhone 17 Pro Max,” she wrote.
Her post generated mixed reactions, with several social media users supporting her decision and arguing that friendship should not revolve around borrowing money. Others suggested that owning an expensive phone did not necessarily prove that the friend had enough money to meet every financial obligation.
One commenter argued that the lawyer had done enough and should stop allowing the friendship to become a source of repeated financial demands. Another questioned whether the assistance requested for the children was intended for school transportation or other educational expenses.
The discussion has reignited conversations about financial boundaries in friendships, with users expressing different opinions on whether owning an expensive gadget should influence someone’s decision to seek financial assistance from others.
