In his remarks, Akpabio emphasized that the hardships being experienced are the outcome of years of poor governance and lack of proper infrastructure planning. “The difficulties we are witnessing in our nation today were not caused by the present administration. These are as a result of years of maladministration,” he stated. He explained that nations that fail to invest in critical infrastructure and do not prepare for economic downturns are inevitably affected when global economic crises occur, which is currently the case in Nigeria.

However, Akpabio reassured Nigerians that there is hope under President Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting that the government is laying the foundation for long-term progress. “The good news is that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have hope today, that there is light at the end of the tunnel,” he said, urging patience as the administration works to implement reforms and policies that will yield lasting benefits for the country.

Akpabio concluded by expressing optimism for the future, asserting that the current administration is focused on building legacies that will secure a better future for generations to come. He urged Nigerians to trust in the process, adding that “the things that we are trying to do now, we are doing for posterity, not for ourselves.”
