The Senate is expected to unveil the list during its plenary today, which marks the constitutional deadline for the nomination.

The delay in the ministerial announcement has caused nationwide unease, especially considering Tinubu’s commitment to form a “government of national competence” promptly after taking office.

According to the Fifth Amendment to the 1999 Constitution, Tinubu is required by law to submit the ministerial list to the Senate by today, July 28, having been sworn in as president on May 29.

The constitution also mandates the appointment of at least one minister from each of the 36 states of the federation. Speculation has been rife in recent weeks, with various names surfacing on social media.
