Speaking at a virtual diaspora dialogue on Sunday, Bamidele disclosed that the National Assembly (NASS) has committed to reassessing diaspora voting rights and other issues impacting Nigerians abroad.

The virtual event, organized by the Directorate of Diaspora and International Affairs in collaboration with Engage Diaspora Foundation and Nigeria Diaspora Foundation, addressed concerns related to the constitutional review.

Bamidele, who sponsored a motion for the constitution’s review two weeks ago, reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to including diaspora voting rights in the ongoing review.

He stated, “Let me share some good news. The bill is already on the floor of the 10th Senate. Exactly two weeks ago, we had the first reading of the bill. It has already been scheduled for the second reading.
