“The president knows that Nigerians are suffering and hungry. He’s very familiar with the streets,” Kalu remarked during Thursday’s episode of Channels Television’s Politics Today. “Sometimes, he uses his car to tour the area and understand what’s happening in Abuja.”

Kalu’s comments come in light of a recent report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), which indicated that the inflation rate in Nigeria reached 32.7 percent in September 2024. The removal of the fuel subsidy and the shift to a floating naira have caused prices of essential goods to rise sharply, making them unaffordable for many.
