Senator Saliu Mustapha has commended the Kwara State Government for the successful inauguration of the first set of Forest Guards, describing the initiative as a bold and timely response to the growing threats of insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping across the state.
According to the senator, the deployment of Forest Guards marks a major milestone in strengthening grassroots security and protecting communities, particularly in vulnerable and forested areas where criminal activities have posed serious risks to lives and livelihoods.
He praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Office of the National Security Adviser led by Nuhu Ribadu, as well as the security agencies and other stakeholders, for their collaboration and commitment in making the initiative a reality.
Senator Mustapha noted that Kwara is facing an unusual and existential security challenge, stressing that the task of restoring safety cannot be left to government alone. He called for collective responsibility, vigilance, and sustained cooperation to ensure that criminal elements are completely rooted out of the state.
He reaffirmed his support for all lawful measures aimed at securing Kwara and protecting its people, adding that a safer state remains a shared duty for all.
