Akume emphasized the necessity of recent reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies, urging understanding rather than outcry. He highlighted government efforts such as the N35,000 minimum wage, additional financial support for transportation and food sectors, and substantial allocations for small and medium enterprises.

Regarding recent disruptions caused by labor strikes, Akume condemned actions compromising national infrastructure, describing them as economic sabotage. He stressed the government’s commitment to economic revival, productivity, and inflation control, urging collaborative efforts from religious institutions to support national development in education, health, and agriculture.
