Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), emphasized yesterday that the institution is dedicated to cultivating graduates who will lead Nigeria towards its brighter future.
Babalola made these remarks during the 9th Induction Ceremony of 95 graduating students from the Faculty of Nursing Sciences at ABUAD.
Addressing the newly qualified registered nurses, the legal luminary highlighted that ABUAD graduates are equipped as agents of change, poised to make significant contributions to society.
“In the years since our inaugural convocation in October 2013, ABUAD has produced 1,420 graduates who are not only excelling but also spearheading reforms as leaders,” Babalola stated.
He continued, “We are fostering a new generation of leaders who will positively transform our nation and beyond. I urge you to uphold the values of our university anthem—determination, industry, philanthropy, and character—as you embark on your journey to contribute to our country’s progress.”
During the induction ceremony, Dr. Farouk Abubakar, representing the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), advised the inductees to embrace opportunities within their profession and uphold its standards with integrity.
“I encourage you to learn from seasoned professionals and uphold the ethics of nursing while exploring new avenues for growth,” Abubakar remarked.
