Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has openly outlined how he wants to be buried, insisting that the Ekiti State Government must take full responsibility for his remains whenever he passes away.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Fayose made the disclosure in a six-minute video uploaded on YouTube by City Edge TV on Saturday, which also marked his 65th birthday. He said he felt it was necessary to document his burial wishes since death is unavoidable.

He revealed that he had already written to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, formally directing the state government to take charge of his body and all funeral arrangements after his death.

“Remember me for whatever you choose. And when I die, let me say this: death is inevitable. My body belongs to the Ekiti State Government… I’m submitting a letter to the governor,” Fayose stated.

He stressed that regardless of whether he dies “in 20, 30, or 15 years,” the government must handle all burial processes.

According to him, he must be buried within four weeks of his passing to allow the state government enough time to prepare.

“The Ekiti State Government takes over my body, and I must be buried within four weeks. The state may not be ready within two or three days, so we give them four weeks,” he explained.

Fayose further instructed that his children should not engage in any elaborate mourning rituals but simply follow the state’s guidelines.

“My children should wear their own clothes and follow whatever directives the government gives at the time of my death,” he said.

He also revealed that he had chosen his grandmother’s home as his final resting place and had already prepared a burial garden there.

“My grandmother’s home—the mother of my father—I’ve made the garden there. That is where I should be laid to rest,” he said.

Fayose emphasised that the gravesite must never become a shrine or a place people visit.

“After my departure, nobody should go there again. Allow me to rest. If you want to show me love or take care of me, do it now,” he warned.
