Sh*ck Confession: Gbajabiamila Explains Why He Was Rejected by The Nigerian Army

Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has revealed how his failed bid to join the Nigerian Army eventually led him into the legal profession.

Speaking in a video address to soldiers, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives recalled that his childhood dream was to serve in the military, but he did not meet the recruitment requirements.

According to him, his height, weight, and physical strength fell short of the standards set for enlistment. Each time he applied, he said, it was obvious he could not match up with other candidates.

Gbajabiamila explained that the setback forced him to change course, which eventually steered him into law and later politics.

He praised the Nigerian military for being a source of inspiration, commending soldiers for their courage, discipline, and sacrifice.

“Honestly, my height, my weight, my strength—everything disqualified me,” Gbajabiamila admitted.

“Every time I attempted, I would look at the person to my right and left during interviews, and nobody needed to tell me to go home. I admire you guys so much; it’s something I aspired to. You are an inspiration to people like us.
