Sh*ck Details Unveiled: Witness Speaks As NCAA Digs Into Ibom Airline Altercation
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has confirmed that an eyewitness has stepped forward to provide a first-hand account of the encounter between Comfort Emmanson and an Ibom Air crew member.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Meanwhile, the Federal Government, through Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, has withdrawn the criminal complaint against Ms. Emmanson, the passenger accused of unruly behavior on the Ibom Air flight, and has reduced the flight ban previously imposed on Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.
Keyamo announced the decisions on Wednesday, explaining that they followed a review of the incidents, consideration of appeals from concerned individuals, and acknowledgment of the remorse shown by those involved. He further revealed that Ibom Air has agreed to withdraw its complaint against Ms. Emmanson, who had been arrested following the August 10 incident.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, said a passenger seated beside Emmanson during the flight had contacted him and provided a boarding pass to verify his presence, offering new testimony on the events prior to departure.
Achimugu stated, “The passenger seated next to the lady in the viral videos has reached out, submitted his boarding pass, and shared his account of what happened on the aircraft before takeoff. Some details shed light on the actions of others involved and the way passengers were handled.”
He added that the eyewitness will release a statement later, and that NCAA has issued a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to Ibom Air, planning to meet with both the airline and eyewitnesses to thoroughly review the case. “It is reassuring to have a verifiable witness come forward, providing clarity amidst the many misleading claims circulating on social media,” he said.
Achimugu reiterated the NCAA and the Minister of Aviation’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all aviation stakeholders. “All information gathered will help identify gaps and improve processes. Mediation remains a key approach to conflict resolution, and the Authority will continue to protect the rights of aviation consumers,” he concluded.
