Babachir, in an interview with Channels Television on Monday, August 11, 2025, criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration and made derogatory remarks about him.
However, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, in a statement on , dismissed Babachir’s comments as a poorly scripted attempt to provoke President Tinubu.
Dare recalled that Babachir once declared that the “wrath of God” should fall on anyone who opposed Tinubu’s presidential ambition, noting that it is disheartening to see the same individual now disrespecting the President and disparaging his office.
The presidential aide added that Babachir is “gasping for political oxygen,” and while he is entitled to express himself, he must know the limits of criticism.
He stated:
“Babachir Lawal, our latest political content creator and soothsayer, is struggling for relevance. In this desperate search, he treats everyone and everything as fair game. He has given numerous provocative interviews before, but none display the incoherence and desperation seen in his Channels Television appearance.
“That interview exposed a troubled individual, unraveling while swinging wildly, embracing ideological inconsistency as if it were a badge of honor. It was clear that his performance was simply a calculated attempt to bait President Bola Ahmed Tinubu—the same man he previously invoked God’s wrath against to protect.
“Now, he casually hurls insults at that very man, showing disrespect for the office and the person of the President. This speaks volumes about Babachir’s character: a fair-weather friend, opportunist, clout chaser, and politically fragile crusader.
“Babachir Lawal, reflect on your actions. Your narrative is shaky, and those observing are only tolerating your flights of fancy for now. This indulgence will not last indefinitely. Express yourself if you must, but know where to draw the line in denigrating the President and his office.”
