Sh*ck In Kwara: Kidnappers Demand ₦1 Billion Ransom For Chinese, Nigerian Hostages

According to the post, the kidnappers used the victims’ mobile phones to contact an associate named Mr. Leo Liang, insisting on the hefty ransom for their freedom.

The victims were seized on Wednesday amid a violent raid on the mining site, which also resulted in the deaths of two members of the Police Mobile Force assigned to protect the expatriates.

Makama noted that security agencies and local vigilante groups have launched a search operation to safely rescue the abducted men.

In a related incident, a newly emerged terrorist group called Mahmuda carried out deadly attacks on communities in Kwara State, killing at least seven villagers in multiple assaults on Tuesday.

Sources told SaharaReporters that Mahmuda stormed Karonji and Duruma villages in Baruten Local Government Area on Tuesday evening, firing sporadically as terrified residents fled into nearby forests.

A local resident, speaking anonymously, confirmed that four villagers were killed in the latest attack, bringing the total death toll for the day to seven, following an earlier morning raid that claimed three lives.

“There is chaos in the community now, with sporadic gunfire ongoing. About four people have been killed, making seven in total today,” the source said.

The Mahmuda group has recently escalated its violent activities across rural areas of North Central Nigeria, especially around Kainji Lake National Park (KLNP).

Communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, such as Kemaanji, Tenebo, Baabete, Nuku, and Nanu, have also experienced similar attacks in recent weeks.
