He made this statement during an appearance on the 234 Mzansi Podcast hosted by Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia.

The outspoken clergyman explained that while the Old Testament prohibited body markings, the New Testament — through the teachings of Jesus — removed such restrictions.

According to Damina, people are free to get tattoos as long as the designs or inscriptions have meaning and glorify God.

“In the Old Testament, tattoos were prohibited because it says you shouldn’t draw marks on your body. But in the New Testament, Jesus abolished that law.
So, if you want to have a tattoo, God is not against it. It’s your body. Just make sure whatever you put there honours God and carries meaning,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nigerian music video director TG Omori revealed that the church played a significant role in shaping his career in filmmaking.

He said his journey into directing began during church drama nights, which helped him discover and hone his acting and directing skills. In a post on Twitter, Omori noted that his neighbourhood had no social clubs or community theatres at the time, making the church his only creative outlet.
