Following the signing, Walker expressed his enthusiasm, saying:
“I’m thrilled to be here. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and quality to what looks like a very promising squad.
After speaking with Scott and hearing about his vision for the upcoming season, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity. He’s done an incredible job getting the team back to the Premier League.”
Walker featured just 15 times for Manchester City in the first half of the 2024–25 season before joining AC Milan in January. However, Milan opted not to make the move permanent.
During his illustrious time at Manchester City, Walker won 17 major trophies, including the historic treble in 2023.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have finalized the signing of Diego Leon from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño. The young defender made 33 senior appearances and scored 4 goals before sealing the move to Old Trafford.
Additionally, Inter Milan have completed the acquisition of French striker Yoan Bonny from Parma. The Serie A giants paid €24 million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old forward, who scored 6 goals in 37 league appearances in the 2024–25 campaign.
Burnley reportedly paid £5 million to secure the services of the experienced Walker, in what is seen as a major boost to their defensive lineup.
