Former Buhari Minister Resurfaces As ADC’s Voice Ahead Of 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, as its interim National Publicity Secretary. He takes over from Mabel Oboh, whose tenure was praised for making “remarkable contributions” to the party’s development.

The announcement, released in a statement on Saturday, is part of ADC’s strategic efforts to reposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Oboh, previously the party’s Publicity Secretary in Lagos State, received accolades for her role in advancing ADC’s ideals and strengthening public engagement. Her elevation from a state to national position was widely seen as recognition of her dedication and communication skills.

She also contested as ADC’s governorship candidate in Edo State during the 2020 election, leading a grassroots-driven campaign. In 2023, she served as the party’s National Coordinator in Lagos, working closely with State Chairman George Ashiru and other key stakeholders to boost ADC’s visibility and public image.

With Abdullahi now taking the reins, the party is signaling a renewed focus on nationwide public outreach and digital strategy. Renowned for his leadership and experience in public service, Abdullahi is expected to broaden the party’s appeal and sharpen its messaging.

A seasoned politician, Abdullahi previously served as Minister of Sports (2006–2007) and represented Agege Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He is well-regarded for his contributions to governance, youth empowerment, and sports development.
