Rev. Dachomo Alleges Repentant Boko Haram Members Recruited Into Nigerian Army, Backs U.S. Intervention Over ‘Christian Genocide’

A Nigerian cleric, Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, has voiced strong support for United States intervention in what he described as an ongoing “Christian genocide” in Northern Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, Rev. Dachomo accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration and certain government officials of complicity in the widespread killings targeting Christian communities.

The Plateau-based cleric further alleged that former members of the Boko Haram insurgent group who claimed to have repented are being integrated into Nigeria’s security agencies.

“The repentant Boko Haram members have been recruited into the Nigerian Army, Air Force, and Police. That’s why Christians must have a voice in politics,” he said.

Responding to claims that Muslims were also being killed in the violence, Rev. Dachomo dismissed the argument as misleading.

“When they shout ‘Allahu Akbar,’ they are beheading Christians and licking their blood. They say we kill them too—ask them where? Look at the recent killings. Look at the child that was murdered. How can anyone say this is not genocide?”

The cleric claimed to have credible sources providing him with insider information, adding that he was “100% in support of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s intervention” in Nigeria’s security situation.

“The Nigerian government’s hands are tied,” he stated. “I will go to any length to prove that what we are saying is true. We are planning to take the Nigerian government before the International Criminal Court (ICC) and also sue the Miyetti Allah group for their role in these atrocities.”

Rev. Dachomo, who serves as the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, made these remarks in a message also shared on his social media platforms.

He lamented that hundreds of Christians have been killed in repeated attacks on Plateau communities, many of which were never officially documented.

“On March 7, 2010, Dogo Nahawa—a Christian-dominated community in Jos South—was attacked by Muslim-Hausa Fulani herdsmen, and over 500 people were killed in a single night,” he recalled.

“Because of my outcry, my own village has been attacked several times. Over 50 people, including my relatives and friends, have been slaughtered. My best friend’s wife and five children were burned alive.”

Rev. Dachomo said he remains determined to expose what he described as a government cover-up, insisting that both the Federal Government and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have failed to acknowledge the extent of the killings.

“Since the Federal Government said there is no genocide, that statement has pushed me to intensify my work,” he said. “I’m documenting cases of Christian genocide across the state. Many of these villages were never recorded, even though mass graves exist.”

He recounted a recent attack in Jaruwa, where worshippers were burned alive during a church service after attackers surrounded the building and set it ablaze using gas lamps.

“I intend to cover all areas where Christians have been attacked—Wurekum, Doruwa, Mangu, Bokkos—and compile a comprehensive report to show the world that genocide is truly happening in Nigeria,” he concluded.
