His reaction comes after the Federal High Court in Abuja directed six commercial banks to release details of Sowore’s accounts—covering all inflows and outflows from January 2024 to date—to the IGP.

The order, granted by Justice Emeka Nwite, followed an ex parte motion filed by IGP’s counsel, Wisdom Madaki, who told the court that Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters, is under investigation for alleged terrorism financing, money laundering, and fraudulent transactions.

Responding via a post on on Tuesday, Sowore blasted the IGP, accusing him of adopting the same “failed strategies” of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The illegal IGP has picked up the disgraced tactics of the now-extinct Buhari regime because I refused his request for private meetings,” Sowore wrote.

Declaring his refusal to negotiate with the police chief, Sowore added:

“I am not interested in meetings with crooks and criminals. I cannot be an accessory to their crimes against the Nigerian people. They won’t learn until this Tinubu regime is finally disgraced as well.”
