Sh*ckwaves In Osun! PDP Breaks Silence On Adeleke’s Rumoured Defection To APC
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed rumours suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid the ongoing local government controversy.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking with Punch, the PDP’s Osun spokesperson, Oladele Bamiji, firmly stated that Governor Adeleke has never indicated to the party or his supporters any intention of abandoning the PDP for the APC or any other political platform.
He said, “Let’s be clear — Governor Adeleke was elected under the PDP banner, and the people of Osun State placed their trust in him through this party. He has repeatedly affirmed his loyalty to the PDP and denied any plan to defect.”
Bamiji suggested that what some may be misinterpreting as a move towards the APC could simply be Adeleke’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s national agenda. “As far as I know, and as one of his aides, he has not told anyone he is joining the APC,” he said.
He further alleged that the current crisis in Osun’s local governments could be part of a broader strategy by the APC to pressure Adeleke into switching allegiance.
“However,” Bamiji asserted, “His Excellency is a man of principle, and he remains committed to serving the people under the same platform that brought him into office.”
