A founding member of the PDP, Mark expressed deep disappointment over the party’s recent trajectory, highlighting growing internal divisions, unending leadership disputes, and unresolved conflicts that have, in his words, “reduced the PDP to a mere shadow of its former self and a subject of public ridicule.”
His resignation follows his recent selection as one of the interim leaders of the coalition-backed African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In his statement, Mark addressed members of PDP in Otukpo Ward 1, and the broader Benue State and national structure, saying:
“I have formally decided to resign my membership of the PDP, effective immediately.
You’ll recall that despite the mass exodus from the party after our 2015 presidential loss, I chose to stay, pledging to be the last man standing.
I have worked tirelessly to rebuild and reposition the PDP, helping to restore its national relevance.
Unfortunately, the persistent crises and internal decay have become unbearable.
After consulting widely with my family, friends, and political allies, I’ve decided to align with the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement—an effort to safeguard our democracy and rescue Nigeria.”
