Sani criticized the lack of integrity among Nigerian politicians and noted that the country has come to rely on an ideal judiciary within an imperfect system. Reflecting on his dual experience in civil society and politics, Sani remarked on the contrast between the two perspectives.

He questioned why institutions such as political parties, INEC, the presidency, the military, and the legislature are not seen as the ultimate hope for the common man, instead of solely depending on the judiciary. Sani highlighted the discrepancy between the idealism of activism and the pragmatic nature of politics.

Sani emphasized that no other president would implement reforms that could jeopardize their own position, unlike Jonathan, who appointed an unfamiliar INEC Chairman and introduced a data capturing machine that paradoxically led to his own political challenges.
