In an interview with Channels TV on Monday, Sani dismissed El-Rufai as politically irrelevant and a liability, insisting that his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has only strengthened the party’s chances of victory in Kaduna across all positions.
“These are some of his antics, but we will lay our cards on the table and let the results speak for themselves. Only God knows the future, but if we are alive and healthy in 2027, we will see who comes out on top,” Sani stated.
He confidently predicted that APC would secure wins in the presidential, state, and National Assembly elections, emphasizing that Kaduna remains the party’s stronghold.
Sani also questioned El-Rufai’s credibility in leading an opposition movement, warning the SDP against embracing politicians who might exploit sentiments and weaken the party’s internal democracy.
“If the opposition sees him as a credible leader, good luck to them. We need a strong opposition, but when you align with individuals who thrive on sentiment, it leads nowhere. The SDP will soon realize this. With or without him, he remains politically irrelevant in our state, and APC will win in 2027,” Sani declared.
