The Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Maman, made this announcement following the federal cabinet meeting presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Professor Maman revealed that the heads of these institutions are now free to conduct recruitment exercises without the need for approval from the Head of Service of the Federation. The President directed the removal of Vice Chancellors from the platform that previously hindered recruitment, aiming for more efficient management of these educational institutions.

Reacting to the news, Shehu Sani commended the Federal Government, led by President Tinubu, stating, “The FG’s decision to remove Universities and Polytechnics from the IPPIS is commendable.”
