Shehu Sani Urges Senate To Reject Military Action On Niger Republic, Advocates Diplomatic Solutions
Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has called on the Senate not to grant approval for any military action against Niger Republic.

In a formal letter read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu outlined measures such as freezing utility services, closing land borders, and military intervention to enforce compliance.
Reacting to the letter, Shehu Sani warned against approving Tinubu’s request and advised the President to opt for diplomatic measures in resolving the unrest in Niger.
He cautioned against war, citing examples of other countries’ prolonged conflicts. Sani emphasized the need to consider the implications and consequences of decisions, particularly for senators representing states along the Niger Border, and condemned weaponizing electricity supplies to Niger.
He urged President Tinubu to continue exploring diplomatic channels to safeguard lives.
