In an interview on ‘Behind the Fame: African A-List’, Lalude recounted how Sola ignored him at a public event, failing to exchange pleasantries despite being aware of his presence.

The actor said Sobowale’s behavior was not only unexpected but also deeply hurtful, especially given their long-standing history in the film industry.

“I was at Olayemi Olayinka’s show when I heard that Sola Sobowale was present too. She knew I was there, yet she didn’t come to greet me. That really hurt,” he said. “She’s not even older than me. I remember when Ngozi brought her to me during Jide Kosoko’s play Ogun Awoyaya at the National Theatre—she was just starting out in the industry.”

Lalude added that regardless of Sobowale’s time abroad, she is not truly wealthy and should have shown more humility and respect. “She came on stage, performed, and left without acknowledging me. That’s what truly pained me,” he said.
