The subtle yet symbolic move occurred shortly after Dalori arrived at the APC National Secretariat for the first time since assuming his new role.
It will be recalled that Ganduje resigned as APC National Chairman on Friday, June 27, just months ahead of the party’s National Convention scheduled for December.
In an official statement issued the same day, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that Ganduje’s resignation was effective immediately. The party cited Ganduje’s focus on personal and health-related matters as the reason for stepping down.
Following his exit, the APC announced that Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North), would serve as Acting National Chairman until the next National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in December 2025.
The party praised Ganduje’s short tenure, highlighting his contributions to party unity, democratic ideals, and electoral strategy.
“Throughout his tenure, he dedicated himself to strengthening the party’s unity and cohesion, expounding its democratic ideals, and enhancing the party’s electoral competitiveness,” the statement read.
