Shock Reversal: Musk Walks Back Harsh Words On Trump

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) early Wednesday, the billionaire tech mogul appeared to backtrack on his earlier criticism, writing: “They went too far.” The statement referred to a series of pointed remarks Musk had made about Trump just days earlier.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week,” Musk admitted. “They went too far.”

The shift in tone comes after a public flare-up between the two high-profile figures. Musk had used his platform to criticize Trump’s tax policies and even engaged with a post mentioning the former president’s impeachment—an interaction he later deleted.

In response, Trump issued a warning suggesting that Musk’s companies could face a review of their federal contracts. However, speaking at a press conference on Monday, Trump seemed to ease his stance: “Look, I wish him well. You understand? We had a good relationship, and I just wish him well.”

Musk, who previously floated the idea of forming a new political party and credited himself with helping Republicans secure victories in the last election cycle, has not yet responded directly to Trump’s conciliatory remarks.
