Shockwaves In Jigawa: Gov Namadi Shreds PDP Membership, Declares Party ‘Dead

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has publicly torn the membership cards of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members as he officially welcomed them into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

During a reception held at the Government House in Dutse on Monday evening, Governor Namadi declared that the PDP’s influence in Jigawa has dwindled significantly, noting that a growing number of its members have already aligned with the APC.

He assured the new members that they would be fully embraced within the APC and treated equally.

“There’s barely any PDP left in Jigawa. With your defection to the APC, we believe many of your former colleagues will soon join you,” Namadi stated.
“The APC is a party built on equity and shared vision — we welcome you as one of our own.”

Representing the defectors, Nasir Alhassan expressed gratitude for the governor’s warm welcome and support.

He announced that around 500 PDP members had defected to the APC, driven by a desire to contribute to the progress of Jigawa State.

“We grew tired of the PDP’s internal crises and directionless leadership,” Alhassan remarked, adding that the APC, under Governor Namadi’s leadership, now holds strong political momentum in the state.
