In response to a viral video showing vehicles being set ablaze by individuals allegedly linked to IPOB/ESN enforcing an unlawful sit-at-home order in Okigwe, the police clarified that the incident actually took place in 2022.
Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesman, stated, “This video is misleading; the incident shown occurred in 2022. Its recirculation is a deliberate attempt by mischief-makers to create unnecessary fear and anxiety in the state.”
The command urged the public to refrain from spreading false information, highlighting that such actions are not only harmful but also punishable under the law.
