PDP Criticizes Ganduje’s Capture Claim In Ondo As Irresponsible....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denounced recent remarks by Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), regarding the party’s goal to “capture” Ondo State and the broader South West region.

In a statement from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba characterized Ganduje’s comments as reckless and threatening.

“What Ganduje stated about the APC’s plans to ‘capture’ Ondo and the South West is both alarming and inappropriate,” Ologunagba remarked. He stressed that the term ‘capture’ suggests forceful control, asserting, “We will not accept being enslaved in our own land.”

He highlighted the South West’s historical significance as a bastion of opposition and democracy, expressing concern over Ganduje’s threats during his visit to Ondo State. “Past attempts to impose control have led to considerable unrest. The ‘wetie’ crisis of the 1960s and the National Party of Nigeria’s (NPN) efforts to impose Akin Omoboriowo as governor in 1983 remind us of the consequences of disregarding the people’s will,” he added. “Any effort by the APC to impose itself on the people of Ondo State will face strong resistance.”

Additionally, the PDP reiterated the call from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the redeployment of the Ondo State security apparatus.
