A boat accident in Dundaye community, Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, a rescue team comprised of NEMA, the Nigerian Red Cross, Fire Services, the State Emergency Management Agency, and local divers recovered the bodies on Monday. Kafindangi reported that of the 24 people involved, 19 were rescued. Initially, one body was recovered on Sunday, and three more were found on Monday, raising the death toll to four. Search efforts are still underway for one missing person.
Kafindangi commended the state and local governments, as well as community members, for their support during the rescue operations.
