Sola Allyson Sh*cks Fans: Why I Refuse To Mention Jesus In My Music
Nigerian singer, Sola Allyson, has addressed long-standing questions from fans about why the name “Jesus” is rarely heard in her music.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking in a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, uploaded on YouTube on Friday, Allyson clarified that she has never considered herself a gospel artiste — despite being widely perceived as one.
She explained that the calm and spiritually rich nature of her music has led many to label her as a gospel singer, but her craft comes from personal experiences and a sincere connection to life, rather than an attempt to fit into a specific musical category.
Allyson said her choice not to mention Jesus explicitly in her songs is intentional. She believes her message and ministry should not rely on using His name for recognition or validation.
Her music, she noted, is designed to uplift, comfort, and guide listeners — allowing God to work through her lyrics without necessarily stating religious terms.
She emphasized that her songs focus on truth, self-reflection, and growth, and she hopes to encourage people to find peace and connect with God in their own genuine way.
Maintaining her authenticity, she said she refuses to be pressured into changing her style just to meet expectations.
Her fan base, she added, continues to grow because listeners resonate with the emotion and wisdom embedded in her messages, regardless of their backgrounds.
In her words:
“I don’t sing religious songs. As I am like this, I don’t call myself a gospel artiste. My name is Sola Allyson. I am a singer. Jesus didn’t say we should be mentioning His name. He didn’t say we should use His name for PR.”
