Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has called upon Anambra indigenes residing in Lagos to consider returning home and investing in the state, emphasizing that Anambra is now open for business.

During a town hall meeting in Lagos, Governor Soludo reminded the audience that being Anambra people was not a mistake but a blessing. He highlighted the progress achieved by his administration in its first year and encouraged them to deeply reflect on their role in the state’s growth.

Governor Soludo stressed the importance of transforming Anambra from a mere departure lounge to a desirable destination, urging every Anambra person to develop a strong sense of homeland consciousness. He emphasized that a prosperous homeland is essential for gaining respect from hosts in other locations.

The governor assured the audience that his government is dedicated to revitalizing Onitsha, restoring it to its former glory as the largest commercial city in the South East and beyond. He emphasized the significant reduction in crime rates, thanks to the effective security architecture implemented by his administration.

Governor Soludo revealed plans to initiate additional road construction projects, building upon the already underway construction of over 300 kilometers of roads. He also announced a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to ensure 24-hour electricity supply in the state. Furthermore, he encouraged collaboration with his government for the establishment of an Independent Power Plant.

The governor expressed his government’s commitment to improving the transportation system by introducing rail services, including both light and sky rail.

Governor Soludo shared that the Anambra Investment Summit would take place in September, inviting all business-minded Anambra individuals to participate in closing deals and signing agreements.
