Soludo stated, “I am a steadfast optimist who has faith in Nigeria’s potential for greatness. I envision a brighter future, provided we collectively strive to bring it to fruition.”
He lauded Chinua Achebe as an uncelebrated hero of Africa, noting that Wikipedia recognizes him as “a Nigerian novelist, poet, and critic, considered a pivotal figure in modern African literature.”
Furthermore, Soludo emphasized that Achebe’s legacy surpasses that of many political figures, despite Achebe not holding political office. He added, “Achebe declined Nigeria’s National Honours on two occasions in protest against what he perceived as injustices against his home state, Anambra.”
